On the western part of the island of Kor\u010dula is the village of Vela Luka at the bottom of a deeply cut and vast bay, indented in many coves whose coasts, overgrown with vineyards, olives, figs and pine trees mildly descend to the sea. With its 4500 inhabitants, Vela Luka is, according to its dimensions, the second most important place on the Adriatic islands, for safe anchorage and as a port for sailors.<\/p>\n
